FAQs
It’s normal to have questions when considering therapy. Below you’ll find answers to some of the most common ones. And if your question isn’t here, don’t hesitate to reach out—I’ll be happy to help.

I am able to offer in-person sessions in Alexandria, VA and can see clients virtually across all of Virginia, DC and Texas.

Many people wonder this before reaching out. Therapy can be helpful if you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, anxious, or caught in patterns that no longer serve you — even if you’re not sure exactly why. You don’t have to wait until things feel “bad enough” to start; therapy can support you at any stage, whether you’re coping with stress, working through past experiences, or wanting to build a healthier relationship with yourself and others.
-
It’s exactly like in-person therapy, except it allows you the freedom and comfort of being able to participate from home! Therapy is conducted over a secure, confidential tele-health platform and your privacy is guaranteed. You’ll receive a link and can login on your laptop or phone.

I take insurance and am currently in network with Cigna, Anthem, BCBS/Carefirst, United, Aetna, and Sentara. Cost will vary for each person based on your insurance plan, so I highly recommend contacting your insurance company to better understand your benefits and to get further information on estimated costs for services.
I also accept clients who are out of network and can provide a monthly superbill, which you can submit directly to your insurance for reimbursement.
-
The first appointment is an intake session, where I learn more about you, the concerns leading you to seek out therapy, and what you’re hoping to gain from therapy. We’ll also review initial paperwork, policies, your rights as a client, and any questions you may have about therapy. The first appointment is also an opportunity for us to get to know each other!

A Good Faith Estimate (GFE) in therapy is an estimate of the cost of services or treatments for those who are uninsured or elect to not use their health insurance benefits to pay for psychotherapy services. Providing this estimate ensures that you are fully informed and experience no surprises when it comes to the financial aspects of your therapy. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your GFE, you can dispute the bill.
